RAGUNAN ZOOLOGICAL PARK

ABOUT,
Established ind 1864 and moved to its present location in the southern suburbs of Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta in 1966, the Zoo Covers 135 hectares of beatiful, shady gardens.
It is home to over 260 species of animals ( including many of which are endangered and threatened ) from all parts of Indonesia and the rest of the world.
There are a total of ? 3122 animals including birds for the viewing pleasure of the public.
These exhibits also serve to help zoo officials in the preservation and propagation of Indonesian Wildlife.

RULES,
In this area, you must obey the rule, like don't feed the animals, to dispose of rubbish properly, don't spit. Did you know why ?
Why you don't feed the animals, coz many animals are fed special diets and feeding them peanuts or food brought from home can make them sick.
Why you don't dispose rubbish in any place, coz plastic wrappers and bottles can be harmful to the animals if it is eaten by the animal.
Why you don't spit, coz spitting spreads germs. Many germs in human mouths do not make us sick but can be fatal to animals.

FACILITY,
There are keeping a playground for your children, restaurant and picnic shelters are available for your convenience as well as stands for purchasing film and souvenirs of the zoo also Ragunan Flowers Park.
Almost 30.000 Plants, grasses and trees of approximately 250 different species complement the multiple purpose of the park. Ornamental plants, like Bougainvillea, Pachystachys and Chinese hibiscus dot the landscape of Ragunan Zoological Park.

You can watch the Orang Utans on their daily tour of the zoo grounds in a pony cart is a special treat for visitors of all ages. On Sunday and public holiday, you can rides Ponycart, Elephant, Camel, Horse and train.

Education and research programme at the Ragunan Zoological Park is a scientific Facility for thousand of scolars. Of all level. Eventhough most of them from elementary and junior level, these programme is also open for the higher level.
This activity encourage us to Love and cheresh our flora and fauna as natural beauty and to build sense of belonging together with Ragunan Zoolical Park.
Ragunan Zoological Park is also a perfect place to do for example scout activities, because there, Students can do both recreations at the same time.

MONAS ( National Monument )

The Monumen Nasional or Tugu Monas is one of the National Monument tower in Jakarta.

The Monumen Nasional was built in dibangun di a landmass of 80 hectare. The architect of this tugu are Mr. Soedarsono and Mr. Frederich Silaban, with Mr.Ir. Rooseno as consultant. Constructoin began in August 1959, and on August 17th 1961 Mr.Ir.Soekarno, The President of Indonesian Republic was inaugurate this tugu.
Monas was opened ceremonially for common people on July 12nd, 1975.

The aim of this construction is for keep in mind and continuing Indonesian nation hassle in revolution of independence period 1945, in order that to inspiring and bracing up patriotism the rising generation of Indonesia, now and future.

The shape of this monument is very unique. The tall of an obelix from marble that lingga yoni-shaped as symbolizing of prosperity is 132 meter.
From the top, 17 m to the top, there is a flame, made of bronze seberat 14.5 tons, which is plated in 35 kg (1,125 troy ounces) of goldand have diameter 6 m, consists of 77 sections that are combined.

High of the cup from base 17 m and the space of museum is 8 m. Size of the square-shaped, measuring 45x45 m, is the preservation of sacred figures Independence Proclamation RI ( 17 - 8 - 1945 ). Visitors can ascend to the top with the Elevator.
Monas area visitors, who will ascend the peak of the Monas monument or museum, can be through the entrance plaza around Medan Merdeka park, on the north Monument Park.Monuments and the museum is open every day, starting at 09.00 - 16.00 WIB.
